Thruster – Stop Leakage
Reduce the wear and tear and stop your leaking thrusters with our ABCON MARINE-THRUSTER SL products – no dry-docking, continue operation.
Thruster leakages occur when they are least expected. By adding one of our ABCON MARINE-THRUSTER Stop Leak additives to the existing system oil, the leakage will be stopped or reduced to an acceptable level in severe cases. We have products which are compatible with all kind of thrusters lubricated with either mineral oil or bio degradable oil. They can stop leakages in rotating and tunnel thruster units and controllable pitch propeller (CPP) systems. We also delivery to rotating thrusters, both Azimuth and Azipot.
Quantity Measurements
- With a smaller leakage (below 0,5 liters/hour), we recommend our THRUSTER SL
- With a larger leakage (between 0,5-2 liters/hour), we suggest our THRUSTER SLL
- With a major leakage (between 2-4 liters/hour), we advise you to buy our THRUSTER SLLL
The SLL and SLLL have the same properties as the SL, but are developed with larger and more complex particles which increases the effect on larger leakages.
Properties of THRUSTER Stop Leak
All our THRUSTER Stop Leak products have hydraulic oil as a base oil. This means that it is compatible with gear and hydraulic oils, and can therefore be used on fixed propellers and CPP propeller systems. It produces a barrier at the damaged areas of the leaking seal ring. In addition, it protects the bearings and seals against wear and tear.
We also deliver to rotating thrusters, both Azimuth and Azipot.
Function
The high content of complex teflon particles produces a sealing layer on top of the seal. As a result, the leakage is significantly reduced or stopped. When SL or SLL is blended with the existing system oil, the blend constitute an excellent lubrication which- due to the teflon particles – maintains its’ lubricating effect with salt water in the system. All our THRUSTR Stop Leak products have hydraulic oil as a base oil. This means that it is compatible with gear oil and hydraulic oil, and can therefore, be used on fixed propellers and CPP propeller systems.
Bio Based Version
Our products are also available in Bio degradable oil based versions with both saturated and unsaterated ester. They all comply with the 2013 EPA VGP requirements as environmentally acceptable.
Our THRUSTER Stop leak products are easy to handle and can be applied by the staff on board the vessel.
